Central Wyoming Trails Alliance

$
THE LOCAL TRAIL ADVOCATES
These guys are the ones putting in the elbow grease to bring signage and trail improvements to the trails on Casper Mountian and beyond. You'll also catch them working with county and city officials to advocate for new trails and improvements in the surrounding area. From their website:

Founded in 2014 the Central Wyoming Trails Alliance has been working with land managers, advocating, and building new trail in the greater Casper area. Our goal is to create a well rounded outdoor community that can have trails that are accessible to all non-motorized user groups. Our efforts continue extend to the education of the community and building relations between different trail users.

The lifeblood of our organization is the outstanding Casper outdoor community and their continued persistence coming and helping dig new trail every week. We have found a very dedicated group of people who are willing to consistently give their free time to help make Casper a better place. If you want more information on getting involved feel free to check our events page for races, trail building dates, and other activities. For the most up to date information on trail building schedules and meeting points find us on Facebook.

Casper Area Mountain Bike Youth Racing

$
C.A.M.B.Y.R.
If you really want to make an impact, this may be it. C.A.M.B.Y.R. stands for Casper Area Mountain Bike Youth Racing. You could ask Leif(Head Coach) and he could tell you story after story of the effects this program has on the youth in the Casper area who join. In Wyoming Mountain Biking is not a sanctioned school sport. As such CAMBYR is required to travel to compete in Colorado as part of thier league. Maybe one day Wyoming will have it's own. In the mean time, this group has a lot of fun as each race turns into a family affair, camping at the race venues in hopes of good weather, stiff competition, and smiles on bikes. Racing is expensive and any donation made curbs some of the costs to each of these indivdiual students. CAMBYR is continuing to grow in numbers and popularity as its reputation is being spread. If mountain biking is to continue to grow in Casper then it will be due to strong interest from our next generation who will someday take the Fat Fish reigns and lead our community to happy, healthy, and fulfilling lives on and off the bike.
